Google Doodle Honors Jules Verne

Today there was a somewhat notable Google Doodle. The Google.com landing page has this animated picture of the ocean where the letters in the work "Google" represent the windows on a submarine. There is also this interesting control on the right that lets you move the "ship" up and down; left and right. Pretty cool especially if you take into account it is not done using flash and it works on the three browsers I tried. It's really amazing what can be done with css and javascript these days. Even the dials were nicely animated as you changed the level of the ship. What I found really interesting is that you can line up the sea life on the ocean floor to fill the windows in a more traditional Google Doodle way... You have to go straight down to see the windows line up with the sea life.
